دورة پانزده سالة آينده را بايد يكي از نشريات درخشان تاريخ مطبوعات ايران به شمار آورد. در اين زمان بنا به ملاحظات وقت بيشتر نشريات علائق سياسي داشتند و به مطالب جدّي، ادبي و تحقيقي كمتر توجه ميشد. و تقريباً تنها مجلة آينده بود كه موضوع اصلي مباحث مندرجة خود را به اينگونه تحقيقات اختصاصي داده بود. مباحث اصلي هر شمارة مجله تقريباً در عناوين زير جاي ميگرفت: تحقيقات ايراني، ايرانشناسان، آثار معاصران، خواندني، ديدارها، انتقاد كتاب، كتابهاي چاپ قديم، اسناد و مدارك و وفيات معاصران. يكي از بخشهاي خوب اين مجله، قسمت اخير آن يعني درج اموال و دانشمندان متوفي معاصر ايراني و ايرانشناسان غربي است كه تقريباً در باب بيشتر آنها فقط در اين نشريه سخن رفته است و از جمله منابع دست اوّل براي تحقيق در بيوگرافي دانشمندان معاصر ايران است. <br />
