شيخ ابوسعيد فضلالله فرزند احمد / محمد بن ابراهيم / احمد ميهَنَي در ميهَنَه (ناحيهاي ميان سرخس و ابيورد خراسان) به دنيا آمد.<sup>1</sup> علوم مقدماتي چون صرف و نحو و لغت را در زادگاهش آموخت. سپس به مرو رفت و مدت پنج سال نزد ابوعبدالله خضري درس فقه خواند. پس از وفات او، پنج سال ديگر درحوزة درس فقه ابوبكر قفّال مروزي (د 417ق / ؟م) شركت كرد.<sup>2</sup> پس از 378ق / ؟م رهسپار سرخس شد و نزد ابوعلي زاهر (د 389ق/ ؟م) بن احمد فقيه به تكميل تحصيل پرداخت. بعد از مرگ زاهر، توسط لقمان سرخسي به ابوالفضل حسن سرخسي (د 414ق/ ؟م) معرفي شد.<sup>3</sup> اين آشنايي احوالش را دگرگون كرد و او را به ترك علوم رسميو گزينش تصوف كشاند.<sup>4</sup> سپس به ميهنه بازگشت و مدت هفت سال به رياضت پرداخت. چندي پس از آن بار ديگر به ديدار ابوالفضل سرخسي شتافت. بعد از اين ملاقات به اشارة پير خود به نيشابور نزد ابوعبدالرحمن سُلميصوفي پرآوازه رفت و از وي خرقة ارشاد گرفت.<sup>5</sup> چون شيخ ابوالفضل درگذشت، ابوسعيد رهسپار آمل شد و در آن شهر به دست ابوالعباس قصاب آملي خرقة تبرك پوشيد.<sup>6</sup> با شيخ ابوعلي سينا<sup>*</sup> (د ؟ ق) و نيز شيخ ابوالحسن ديدارهايي داشت و مكاتبههايي ميان آنان صورت گرفت.<sup>7</sup> سرانجام در زادگاهش درگذشت و در همان جا به خاك سپرده شد. ''مقامات اربعين / چهل مقام'' از جمله آثار اوست. احوال و كراماتش در كتابهاي ''اسرارالتوحيد<sup>*</sup>'' و ''حالات و سخنان ابوسعيد'' توسط نوادگان وي گردآوري شده است.<sup>8</sup> قطعات، رباعيات و ابيات پراكندهاي را از زبان ابوسعيد نقل كردهاند كه از قديمترين نمونههاي شعر تعليميصوفيه به شمار ميرود.<sup>9</sup> <br />
