<p>صفحه‌ای تازه حاوی «&#039;&#039;&#039;بوزجاني،&#039;&#039;&#039; محمد بن محمد بن يحيي بن اسماعيل. در اول رمضان 328قمري (10 ژوئن 940م) در بوزجان (امروزه تربت جام در استان خراسان) زاده شد. در 20 سالگي به بغداد رفت و در حدود 388قمري در همانجا درگذشت. وي يكي از مفاخر علمي و فرهنگي ايران بشمار مي‌رود و امروزه ب...» ایجاد کرد</p> <p><b>صفحهٔ تازه</b></p><div>&#039;&#039;&#039;بوزجاني،&#039;&#039;&#039; محمد بن محمد بن يحيي بن اسماعيل. در اول رمضان 328قمري (10 ژوئن 940م) در بوزجان (امروزه تربت جام در استان خراسان) زاده شد. در 20 سالگي به بغداد رفت و در حدود 388قمري در همانجا درگذشت. وي يكي از مفاخر علمي و فرهنگي ايران بشمار مي‌رود و امروزه به پاس خدمات علمي وي، دهانة يكي از آتشفشان‌هاي ماه را «ابوالوفا» ناميده‌اند.&lt;sup&gt;(1، 2، 3)&lt;/sup&gt;<br /> <br /> بوزجاني بويژه در پيدايش و پيشرفت دانش مثلثات نقشي بسزا داشت. وي برخلاف همة رياضي‌دانان يوناني و مسلمان پيشين، براي نخستين بار شعاع دايرة مثلثاتي را به جاي 60، برابر يك واحد گرفت در نتيجه توابع مثلثاتي سينوس، كسينوس (و نيز تانژانت و كتانژانت) را دقيقا به همان شكل امروزي تعريف كرد و به كار برد (اين كار روابط ميان توابع مثلثاتي را بسيار ساده مي‌كند). بسياري از اتحادهاي مثلثاتي مهم مانند  ،  و  را براي نخستين بار كشف و با روش هندسي اثبات كرد. تقريب‌هاي دقيقي براي سينوس نيم درجه و عدد پي (π) به دست آورد كه تا روزگار غياث الدين جمشيد كاشاني* (يعني نزديك 450 سال) بي‌نظير بود. بوزجاني يكي از كهن‌ترين آثار دورة اسلامي را دربارة مربع‌هاي وفقي (يا سحر آميز) نوشت. ترسيمات كتاب اعمال هندسي وي هم در ميان صنعتگران و هم در ميان رياضي‌دانان مشهور بود. شماري از ترسيمات اين كتاب كه تنها با يك گشادگي دهانة پرگار ترسيم شده، از نخستين نمونه‌هاي مسائل هندسة پرگاري (يا ترسيم با پرگار زنگ زده) به شمار مي‌رود (البته پس از كتاب عبدالرحمان صوفي*) كه بعدها بر هندسه‌دانان اروپاي دورة نوزايي تأثيري بسزا گذاشت. در 1836م سِديّو (Sédillot، رياضي‌دانان فرانسوي) با استناد به بخشي از كتاب &#039;&#039;المجسطي&#039;&#039; بوزجاني، در فرهنگستان علوم فرانسه مدعي شد كه ابوالوفا شش قرن پيش از تيكوبراهه (منجم مشهور دانماركي)، به مفهوم «اختلاف سوم ماه» موسوم به وارياسيون اشاره كرده است. بحث دربارة درستي يا نادرستي نظرية سديو  تا 1892ميلادي بسياري از اعضاي برجستة اين فرهنگستان را به خود مشغول داشت تا آنكه كارادوو (Carra de Vaux) در مقاله‌اي مفصل ادعاي سديو را نادرست و تيكوبراهه را كاشف وارياسيون دانست با اين همه بازهم در سال‌هاي بعد چند مقاله در تأييد نظر سديو نوشته شد. امروزه گرچه اغلب محققان تاريخ نجوم نظر سديو را رد كرده‌اند، اما حتي در برخي سايت‌هاي معتبر مربوط به اخبار كرة ماه نيز همچنان بوزجاني كاشف وارياسيون معرفي شده است.&lt;sup&gt;(1، 2)&lt;/sup&gt; <br /> <br /> &#039;&#039;&#039;مآخذ&#039;&#039;&#039;: <br /> <br /> 1-     كرامتي، يونس. &#039;&#039;&#039;كارنامة ايرانيان&#039;&#039;&#039;. تهران: 1380ش، صص 79-85.<br /> <br /> 2-     كرامتي، يونس. «بوزجاني». &#039;&#039;&#039;&#039;&#039;دايرة المعارف بزرگ اسلامي&#039;&#039;&#039;&#039;&#039;. ج 12، صص 727-737.<br /> <br /> 3-     قرباني، ابوالقاسم. &#039;&#039;&#039;بوزجاني نامه&#039;&#039;&#039;. تهران: 1371ش.<br /> <br /> عباس کرامتی</div>
