برخي نسب بگزادگان را به پيربوداق فرزند شيرخان، از كردان مُكري آذربايجان دانستهاند<sup>(1)</sup> و برخي ديگر به نقل از خود بگزادگان، آنها را به تهمورث كياني (شاه افسانهاي ايران) نسبت ميدهند.<sup>(2)</sup> <br />

بگزادگان در اطراف اورميه و اشنويه پراكندهاند. بگزادگان اورميه به دو شاخة بگزادگان دشت و بگزادگان بنار تقسيم ميشوند كه درمناطق تولكي، دربند و سوليك سيلوانا، اميرياد، ديزج، دزاوا و محال زندگي ميكنند. بگزادگان اشنويه نيز به دو شاخة فضلالله بيگي و حيدري تقسيم ميشوند.<sup>(3)</sup> بگ زادگان سليمانيه هم در شمال و در حوالي مرز تركيه زندگي ميكنند.<sup>(4)</sup> <br />

برخي از بگزادگان به ايلات و طوايف كرد ديگر منطقه پيوسته و تيرهاي از آنها را تشكيل دادهاند،<sup>(5)</sup> مانند بگزادههاي ايلات جاف مرادي و جوانرود و برخي ديگر، مانند بگزادههاي نوار مرزي ايران و تركيه در منطقة تَرْگَوَر يك طايفة مستقل با سازمان ايلي مشخصي تشكيل دادهاند.<sup>(6)</sup> <br />

رؤساي ايلات و طوايفي كه بگزادگان به آنها پيوستهاند بيشتر از ميان خانوادة بگزادگان برگزيده ميشوند.<sup>(7)</sup> <br />

بگزادگان سني شافعي مذهب هستند و شغل اغلب آنها دامپروري است.<sup>(8)</sup> از شمار كردهاي بگزاده اطلاع دقيقي در دست نيست، جمعيت آنها در سالهاي 1342-1311 1349ش به ترتيب 400، 550 و 500 خانوار برآورد شده است. شمار جمعيت كوچندة آنها در 1377ش 227 خانوار و 2175 نفر گزارش شده است.<sup>(9)</sup> <br />
