در زبانها و گويشهاي مختلف ايران و برخي ايلات و عشاير عنوان بي بي راه يافته و برای همسران و دختران خانها به کار میرفته است. «بي بي بَف» (بی بی باف) نام نفيسترين قالي بختياري است كه در گذشته فقط بی بیها میتوانستند آن را ببافند.<sup>6</sup> امروزه بافت آن همچون گذشته معمول نيست. اصطلاح بيبي در ترانهها، مثلها و قصههاي وارد شده<sup>7</sup> و با باورهاي مذهبي مردم درآمیخته و برخی آشهاي نذري با نام بیبی همراهاند، مانند آش بیبی سهشنبه یا آش بیبی حور و بیبی نور.<sup>8</sup> پايگاهي يافته است.<br />

زيارتگاهها، قلعهها، بناها و روستاهايي به نام بي بي یا خاتون شهرت دارند، مانند بي بي شهربانو در شهرري تهران بیبی خاتون در بوشهر و در بهبان<sup>9</sup> بی بی شهربانوی تهران به اعتقاد مردم ايران آرامگاه شهربانو دختر يزدگرد سوم آخرين پادشاه ساساني و همسر امام حسين (ع) است. <br />
