text-decoration: none;">محل حضور پيروان مذاهب و تركيبهاي قومي مختلف درآمد. با شكوهترين، رفيعترين و مشهورترين بناي آن ايوان مدائن يا طاق كسري است كه در زمان شاپور<sup>*</sup> اول يا خسرو انوشيروان<sup>*</sup> در مساحتي 400×300 متر<sup>5</sup> در جنوب تيسفون قديم (عتيق) بنا شد</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; كِردبنداز، [1]گِردآباد، تيسفون (طيسفون)، تيسپون، [2]طيسفونج، كتيسفرن، [3]توسفون، سوپين، [4]ماحوزه، [5]ماحوزا ملكا، سلوكيه، [6]وه اردشير. وه آنتيوخسرو (بِه از انطاكيه [7]شهرخسرو). شهرستانان، مديناثا، [8]مدينه و مدائن از نامهاي چندي است كه در منابع ايراني، اسلامي، سرياني و ديگر منابع و متناسب با دورانهاي مختلف تاريخي براي اين شهر بيان شده است.<sup>1</sup> بابِل قديميترين شهر و پايتخت ميان رودان (بينالنهرين) و تيسفون و بغداد در مسيري 80 كيلومتري بركرانة دجله هر يك، بنا شده پس از ويراني ديگري بوده و بر روي هم سابقة مدنيت و تختگاهي بيش از چهار هزار سال دارند. تيسفون يا مدائن را از اين رو شهرستانان گفتهاند كه شامل 7 شهر بوده است: اسپانبر( اسفانبر)، وِه آنيتو خسرو(روميگان) بلاشگرد (ساباط)، وه (ويه) اردشير (سلوكيه)، ماحوزا، نونيافاذ، دَرزيندان.<sup>2</sup><br />

در 129ق.م اشكانيان اراضي پيرامون تيسفون را فتح كردند و مهرداد<sup>*</sup> اول اشكاني آن را بنا نهاد كه از زمان گودرز دوم (حك41-51.م) تا فتح آن به دست سعد بن ابي وقاص (14 يا 16ق/ ؟ م) در زمان خلافت عمر (13-23ق) و يزدگرد سوم<sup>*</sup> ساساني (حك11-31ق/632-651م) ششصد سال پايتخت اين دو سلسله و هميشه در معرض تحولات سياسي، اجتماعي ناشي از نظام سياسي اشكانيان و در معرض هجوم روميان از غرب بود. از زمان شاپور<sup>*</sup> دوم يا ذوالأكتاف (310-379م) تيسفون به اوج عظمت و شكوه رسيد و به عنوان مركز حكومتي و مبادلات بازرگاني بر شاخة مهمي از جادة ابريشم،<sup>4</sup> محل حضور پيروان مذاهب و تركيبهاي قومي مختلف درآمد. با شكوهترين، رفيعترين و مشهورترين بناي آن ايوان مدائن يا طاق كسري است كه در زمان شاپور<sup>*</sup> اول يا خسرو انوشيروان<sup>*</sup> در مساحتي 400×300 متر<sup>5</sup> در جنوب تيسفون قديم (عتيق) بنا شد. با فتح مدائن توسط اعراب مسلمان خزائن گرانبهاي آن مانند تاج خسروپرويز، ديباي زربفت جواهرنشان و فرشكسري (بهارستان) به دست آنان افتاد.<sup>6</sup> بعدها سلمان فارسي به حكمراني مداين رسيد و در همانجا درگذشت و در جايي كه به نام سلمان پاك مشهور است مدفون شد.<sup>7</sup> تيسفون به مرور ويران شد و از مصالح آن در زمان عباسيان براي بناي سامرا و بغداد استفاده شد و از آن ويرانهاي بيش بر جاي نماند و ايوان مدائن به قول خاقاني شرواني، آئينة عبرت شد.<br />
