در اصطلاح عام به كلية سازهاي موسيقي از هر گروه و در اصطلاح خاص به يك ساز از خانوادة زه صداهاي&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt; مضرابي اطلاق مي‌شود كه امروزه در آذربايجان شرقي و غربي، اردبيل، زنجان، قزوين، همدان و هر جا كه گروه‌هايي از ترك زبانان آذربايجاني حضور داشته باشند متداول است. <br /> <br /> ساز در برخي از مناطق ديگر – جز آذربايجان – كه به زبان تركي آذربايجاني تكلّم مي‌كنند با نام‌هاي ديگري چون قوپوز&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt; و چگور&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt; نيز شناخته مي‌شود. ساز توسط عاشيق‌ها نواخته مي‌شود و عاشيق عبارت از خواننده، راوي، داستان‌گو و نوازنده است. اين ساز متشكل از يك كاسة طنيني تركه‌اي، دسته‌اي بلند، 9 وتر، 9 گوشي، تعدادي دستان، خرك، سيم‌گير، شيطانك و مضرابي از جنس پوست درخت گيلاس يا پلاستيك است. در باور عاشيق‌ها، عدد 9 در تركيب قطعات ساز عاشيقي اهميت دارد. در عين حال امروزه كاسه‌هايي با تعداد تركه‌هاي بيشتر ساخته مي‌شود و تعداد دستان‌ها نيز افزايش يافته و گاه به 22 دستان مي‌رسد. امروزه تعداد وترها در آذربايجان شرقي 8 عدد (3+2+3) و در آذربايجان غربي 7 عدد (3+1+3) است. در آذربايجان شرقي، ساز توسط بالابان&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt; و قاوال&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt; (دايره&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt;) همراهي مي‌شود اما در آذربايجان غربي ساز عاشيقي توسط هيچ ساز ديگري همراهي نمي‌شود. رپرتوار ساز عاشيقي شامل تعدادي مقام و آهنگ است كه ”هاوا“ ناميده مي‌شود. موارد استفاده از ساز عاشيقي شامل مجالس عروسي و شادماني و قهوه‌خانه‌هاي معروف به عاشيقلار مي‌باشد. <br /> <br /> <br /> &#039;&#039;&#039;مآخذ:&#039;&#039;&#039;
