'''سلطانيه (مزار)،''' مجموعة سلطانيه، كه شامل گنبد، تربتخانه و سردابه، در 39 كيلومتري جنوب شرقي شهر زنجان قرار دارد. شهر سلطانيه به عنوان آخرين پايتخت ايلخانان مغول در روزگار سلطان محمد خدابنده، از جمله مهمترين شهرهاي ايران به شمار ميرفت. شروع ساخت بناي گنبد سلطانيه<sup>*</sup> به حدود 704هـ/ 1305م باز ميگردد.<br />
<br />
اما، تربتخانه در ضلع جنوبي گنبد واقع شده است و هم زمان با گنبد، بين 714- 715هـ/ 1315- 1316م ساخته شده است.<sup>1</sup> بناي تربتخانه براي مقبرة سلطان محمد خدابنده احداث گرديده بود، ابعاد آن 60/17 متر طول، 80/7 متر عرض و 16 متر ارتفاع است كه پوشش سقف آن از سه طاق و تويزه ساخته شده، طاق مركزي بزرگتر و به طول 9 متر و طاقهاي طرفين حدود سه متر قطر دارند. در نماي خارجي تربتخانه (مزار) در جنوب، طاقنماهايي مشاهده ميشود كه در اطراف و بالاي آن پنجرههايي تعبيه شده كه نور مورد نياز تربتخانه را تأمين ميكنند.<br />

در اضلاع شمالي و جنوبي اين فضا، رواقي به عرض 160 سانتيمتر و ارتفاع 3 متر به طور متقارن ايجاد گرديده است، و با خالي كردن جرز جنوبي در قرينة ايوان، محرابي تعبيه گرديده كه به نظر ميرسد اين تغييرات در دورة دوم تزئينات گنبد سلطانيه، 717هـ/ 1318م، انجام پذيرفته است.<br />
<br />
در ضلع جنوبي، تربتخانه از نظر نما، از حالت گونيايي خارج گرديده و بدين خاطر، در طرف غربي و در قناسي موجود، اتاقي ساخته شده.<sup>2</sup> در ارتفاع 3/2 متر از كف، كتيبة زيبايي در دو قلم ريز به خط كوفي مشجر و قلم درشت به خط ثلث، مشتمل بر آيات قرآني نگاشته شده است. از ديگر عناصر تزئيني تربتخانه كاشيكاري است، كه در زمينة فيروزهاي رنگي با طرح اسليمي و هندسي اجرا شده است.<sup>3</sup><br />

وجود هشتگيرهاي موجود بين اندامهاي تربتخانه و اضلاع جنوب شرقي و جنوب غربي گنبد و همچنين وجود تزئينات تربتخانه، عواملي هستند كه اجراي هم زمان تربتخانه (مزار) با گنبد را مسجل ميكنند.<br />
<br />
در ايوان ضلع جنوبي تربتخانه، درگاه ورودي سردابه قرار دارد. سردابه در واقع جايگاه قبور شاهي بوده است. طرح معماري سردابه بسيار پيچيده و داراي فضاهاي متعددي است. اين نوع مقبرهسازي، احتمالاً ملهم از بينش مذهبي و آئيني «شَمَني» مغولان بوده است. تزئينات به كار رفته در سردابه شامل نقش آجر در رجهاي منظم است.<sup>4</sup> با تأملي بر شيوة معماري و بررسي ارتباط ساختاري بين فضاهاي اين مجموعه، در مييابيم كه گنبد و فضاهاي تربتخانه (مزار) و سردابه، مختص آرامگاه سلطان محمد خدابنده (اُلجايتو) طراحي و بنا گرديده است.<br />
<br />
اين بنا بهترين نمونة معماري عصر ايلخاني و سومين گنبد بزرگ آجري جهان به شمار ميرود.<br />
