'''فاطمي،''' '''سيدحسين''' (دكتر) (1296 / ؟ م ـ 1333ش) روزنامهنگار، وزير امور خارجة دولت ملي دكتر محمد مصدق،<sup>*</sup> پيشنهاد دهندة ملي شدن صنعت نفت<sup>*</sup> و از منتقدان حكومت پهلوي'''.''' سيدحسين فاطمي فرزند سيدمحمدعلي سيفالعلما در نائين متولد شد. پس ازپايان تحصيلات، در ''روزنامة باختر'' به مديريت برادرش نصرالله سيفپور فاطمي به روزنامهنگاري پرداخت.<sup>1</sup> در 1316 با عزيمت به تهران سردبير ''روزنامة ستاره'' احمد ملكي و مدتي بعد مدير و سردبير ''روزنامة باختر''<sup>*</sup> در پايتخت شد كه به زودي با درج مقالات تند و مستند معروفيت زيادي پيدا كرد<sup>2</sup> با عزيمت او به فرانسه براي تحصيل در رشتة روزنامهنگاري انتشار روزنامة باختر متوقف شد. در همان زمان مقالات او در روزنامههاي مرد امروز<sup>*</sup> و ستاره انتشار<sup>*</sup> مييافت. پس از بازگشت به ايران و تشكيل جبهة ملي<sup>*</sup> به رهبري دكتر مصدق، روزنامة باختر را ارگان رسمي اين جبهه كرد<sup>3</sup> كه با نشر مقالات تند توسط رزمآرا توقيف و زنداني شد.<sup>4</sup> فاطمي به استناد نامة دكتر مصدق پيشنهاد دهندة ملي شدن صنعت نفت و از فعالان اصلي جبهة ملي ايران در دورة شانزدهم مجلس بود.<sup>5</sup> وي در بهمن 1330ش در سالگرد قتل محمد مسعود<sup>*</sup>، ترور و به شدت زخمي شد.<sup>6</sup> اما پس از بهبودي در انتخابات دورة هفدهم به نمايندگي از طرف مردم تهران انتخاب شد و در 1331 به وزارت خارجة دولت ملي رسيد. در جريان مبارزة با شاه و دربار، حملات تندي به آنها كرد و حتي پس از فرار شاه، در اجتماع مردم تهران خواستار لغو نظام سلطنتي شد (25 مرداد 1332).<sup>7</sup> پس از كودتاي 28 مرداد 1332 متواري و در 16 اسفند آن سال دستگير شد و مورد حملة گروه شعبان جعفري (معروف به بي مخ) قرار گرفت.<sup>8</sup> فاطمي پس از حكم بدوي دادگاه و رد تقاضاي فرجام او از طرف شاه در روز چهارشنبه 19 آبان 1333ش در پادگان قصر تير باران و در ابنبابويه به خاك سپرده شد.<sup>9</sup> <br />
