<p><b>صفحهٔ تازه</b></p><div>'''طباطبايي، سيدضياءالدين،''' روزنامهنگار و رئيس الوزراي ايران در 1300ش و عامل اصلي كودتاي حوت 1299 كه به انقراض سلسلة قاجاريه انجاميد، پيش از دستيابي به مقام صدارت، روزنامهنگاري برجسته و موفق بود و چندين نشرية كوچك و بزرگ را براي ساليان متمادي در شيراز و تهران انتشار داد. دوران كودكي و جواني او در شيراز گذشت. نخست نشرية كوچك ''نداي اسلام'' را در شيراز انتشار ميداد. سپس به تهران عزيمت كرد و در اين شهر نخست روزنامة ''شرق'' را در 106 شماره از رمضان 1327 / ؟م تا جماديالاول 1328ق / ؟م منتشر كرد. با نشر اين شماره روزنامه توقيف شد و سيدضياء به جاي آن از تاريخ 5 شوال 1328ق روزنامة ''برق'' را به همان سبك و اسلوب انتشار ميداد و در شمارة اول آن ماجراي توقيف شرق را شرح داد. روزنامة برق هم پس از نشر 13 شماره در همان سال توقيف و از انتشار بازماند. سيدضياء سپس انتشار روزنامة رعد<sup>*</sup> را آغاز كرد و آن را تا وقوع كودتاي حوت 1299 ادامه داد.<sup>1</sup> <br />

سيدضياءالدين پس از بركناري از مقام رئيس الوزرايي ايران را ترك گفت و در 1322ش به وطن بازگشت. او در اين سال با آنكه به دنياي سياست بازگشته و حزبي به نام «ارادة ملي» را تأسيس كرده بود<sup>2</sup> از نشر روزنامه و مجله خودداري كرد. از آثار قلمي او به جز مقالات مندرج در نشريات نام برده بايد از اعلامية نخستوزيري و نامههاي رسمي و تفسير چند سوره از ''قرآن'' ياد كرد.<sup>3</sup> <br />
