سيدجمال در انتشار نشرية عروةالوثقي همچنين از شيخ محمدعبده مصري و ميرزا محمدباقر بواناتي از روشنفكران ايراني مقيم اروپا كمك ميگرفت. (همو ص98) عروةالوثقي پس از ورود به هند، به زبان اردو ترجمه و در نشريات محلي آن كشور به چاپ ميرسيد. سرمقالههاي عروةالوثقي كه همه نتيجة تفكر سيد بود به موضوع اتحاد اسلامي و وحدت ملل مسلمان ميپرداخت. سيد با انتشار اين نشريه تكان عجيبي به انديشة مسلمانان آن روز در اكناف جهان داد. خود سيد هم در نتيجة انتشار اين نشريه با رجال زيادي از اروپا آشنا شد.
