مهمترين اثر اهوازي، دانشنامة پزشكي ''كامل الصناعة الطبيه'' مشهور به ''كتاب الملكي'' است. اين كتاب در دو بخش نظري و عملي و هر بخش در 10 مقاله تنظيم شده است. اهوازي در آغاز اين اثر، آثار مهم پزشكان برجستة پيشين ، از يونانيان گرفته تا رازي* را نام ميبرد و از ديدگاهي علمي و منصفانه آنها را به نقد ميكشد.<sup>4</sup> آنچه اهوازي در بخش پزشكي عملي اين كتاب (پزشكي باليني و جراحي) آورده دقت و مهارت و تجربهاش در مداواي انواع بيماريها و جراحيها را آشكار ميسازد.<sup>5</sup> پژوهشگران غربي به برخي ديدگاههاي جالب و نوآوريها و كشفهاي وي اشاره كردهاند.<sup>6و7و8</sup><br />

شهرت عالمگير اين كتاب موجب شد كه كنستانتين آفريكانوس [1](د 1087م) سارق علمي و ادبي مشهور آثار پزشكي دورة اسلامي، اين كتاب را به لاتيني ترجمه كند و خود را مؤلف آن معرفي كند. اما تنها نيم قرن بعد و در نيمة نخست سدة 12م، استفانوس انطاكي، [2]مترجم پيزايي آثار پزشكي و فلسفي از عربي به لاتين، متوجه اين سرقت علمي و البته نواقص بسيار ترجمة كنستانتين شد و به ناچار كتاب را يك بار ديگر به لاتيني ترجمه كرد. البته بيشتر پژوهشگران اروپايي، كه همواره كنستانتين را يكي از مفاخر علمي اروپا در دوران تاريك سدههاي ميانه ميدانند، به جاي اشاره به سرقت آثار علمي توسط كنستانتين، كوشيدهاند انگيزة استفانوس در افشاي اين سرقت علمي را، رقابت شخصي قلمداد كنند! دونالد كمپل[3] از معدود پژوهشگران اروپايي است كه به صراحت از كنستانتين به عنوان يك متقلب نام برده است.<sup>9</sup> <br />
