<p>صفحه‌ای تازه حاوی «&#039;&#039;&#039;غياث‌الدين جمشيد كاشاني،&#039;&#039;&#039; (790ق / 1388م ـ 832ق / ؟؟؟م) فرزند مسعود، يكي از بزرگترين رياضي‌دانان تاريخ، مدير رصدخانة سمرقند كه در نجوم نيز مهارت داشت. در كاشان زاده شد. در 18 سالگي خسوفي را در كاشان رصد كرد. در 816ق زيج خاقاني را در تصحيح زيج ايلخاني (ن...» ایجاد کرد</p> <p><b>صفحهٔ تازه</b></p><div>&#039;&#039;&#039;غياث‌الدين جمشيد كاشاني،&#039;&#039;&#039; (790ق / 1388م ـ 832ق / ؟؟؟م) فرزند مسعود، يكي از بزرگترين رياضي‌دانان تاريخ، مدير رصدخانة سمرقند كه در نجوم نيز مهارت داشت. در كاشان زاده شد. در 18 سالگي خسوفي را در كاشان رصد كرد. در 816ق زيج خاقاني را در تصحيح زيج ايلخاني (نوشتة نصير الدين طوسي*) نوشت و آنرا به الغ بيگ* تقديم كرد. سرانجام در 824ق آوازة علم او الغ بيگ را واداشت كه او را به سمرقند دعوت كند و كار طراحي و نظارت بر تأسيس رصدخانة مشهور سمرقند را به وي بسپارد. وي در محل رصدخانه به نحوي مشكوك درگذشت.&lt;sup&gt;1و2&lt;/sup&gt; كاشاني در رسالة محيطيه نسبت محيط دايره به قطر آن يعني مقدار 2π را با چنان دقتي محاسبه كرد كه رياضي‌دانان اروپايي 150 سال طول كشيد تا بتوانند تقريبي دقيق‌تر ارائه كنند. پاول لوكي[1] كه در 1949 ميلادي اين رساله را به زبان آلماني ترجمه كرد و شرح بسيار محققانه‌اي نيز دربارة آن نوشت كه متأسفانه در 1953م و پس از مرگ لوكي منتشر شد. وي رسالة محيطية كاشاني را «شاهكاري در فن محاسبه در دستگاه شمار شصتگاني» دانسته است. پس از انتشار اين كتاب دانشمندان اروپايي براي نخستين بار متوجه اهميت آثار كاشاني شدند. بوريس رُزِنفِلد[2] و آدُلف يوشكِويچ[3] نيز اين رساله را به روسي ترجمه كرده‌اند. كاشاني در رسالة وتر و جيب نيز كه متأسفانه متن اصلي آن از ميان رفته نه تنها مقدار سينوس يك درجه تا 17 رقم اعشار درست محاسبه كرد بلكه براي نخستين بار فرمول مثلثاتي تثليث زاويه را يافت و ريشة اين معادله (يعني همان سينوس يك درجه) را با روش آناليز عددي پيدا كرد. پژوهشگران اروپايي و ايراني مقالات متعددي به زبان‌هاي مختلف دربارة اين رساله نوشته‌اند. كاشاني براي نخستين بار معادلات درجة چهارم را با همان شيوة خوارزمي* (در مورد معادلات درجة دوم) و خيام (معادلات درجة سوم) دسته‌بندي كرد و نيز همة معادلات درجة چهارم و برخي معادلات از درجات بالاتر را كه قابل تحويل به درجات پايين‌تر نبود را احتمالا با همان شيوة آناليز عددي (كه در رسالة وتر و جيب آمده بود) حل كرد. كاشاني كسرهاي اعشاري را كه پيش از وي سه رياضي‌دان مسلمان (اقليدسي، سموئل بن يحيي مغربي و نسوي*) در مواردي انگشت‌شمار به كار برده بودند دوباره اختراع كرد و اهميت و سادگي كاربرد آنها در محاسبات را به همگان گوشزد كرد. در &#039;&#039;مفتاح الحساب&#039;&#039; براي معادلات درجة دوم آلگوريتم‌هاي بسيار روشني ارائه داد كه در نوع خود بي‌سابقه بود. همچنين ابزار نجومي جالبي به نام طبق المناطق اختراع كرد و كتابي نيز دربارة كاربرد آن نوشت (اين رساله نيز به انگليسي ترجمه شده است). <br /> <br /> &#039;&#039;&#039;مآخذ:&#039;&#039;&#039; <br /> <br /> 1-     كرامتي، يونس. &#039;&#039;&#039;در قلمرو رياضيات.&#039;&#039;&#039; (بازنويسي و تلخيص &#039;&#039;&#039;مفتاح الحساب&#039;&#039;&#039; كاشاني)، تهران: 1381. <br /> <br /> 2-    كرامتي، يونس. &#039;&#039;&#039;كارنامة ايرانيان&#039;&#039;&#039;. تهران: 1380، ص 134-140. <br /> <br /> 3-    قرباني، ابوالقاسم. &#039;&#039;&#039;كاشاني نامه&#039;&#039;&#039;. تهران: 1368.<br /> <br /> <br /> یونس کرامتی<br /> ----[1].<br /> <br /> [2].<br /> <br /> [3].</div>
