وزير با تدبير غازان خان و اُوجاليتو، خواجه رشيدالدين&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt;، باني بسياري از اصلاحات در آن دوران، مجتمعي به نام رَبع رشيدي&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt; در تبريز بر پا كرد كه كارگاه‌ها و كتابخانه‌هاي آن توليد و مصورسازي كتب تاريخي، ادبي و علمي را بر عهده داشتند.&lt;sup&gt;2&lt;/sup&gt; در ربع رشيدي نخستين مكتب نقاشي تبريز پا گرفت. تصاوير پراكنده از نسخ متعدد جامع‌التواريخ&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt; ـ و تصاوير شاهنامة بزرگ اندازة دِموت&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt; خصوصيات اين مكتب را باز مي‌نماياند.&lt;sup&gt;3&lt;/sup&gt; اولين مكتب تبريز، تلفيقي از هنر خاور دور و عمدتاً چين با سنت هاي ايراني است. در اين دوران نقش‌هايي چون، ابرهاي پيچان، كوه‌هاي مخروطي و درختان گره‌دار كهنسال، حيوانات افسانه‌اي (اژدها، ققنوس و...)، نيلوفر آبي، لباس‌ها و جنگ‌افزارها&lt;sup&gt;4&lt;/sup&gt;، قلم‌گيري روان و كاربست رنگ‌هاي خاموش و... از هنر چيني به نگاره‌هاي ايراني راه يافت. <br /> <br /> دومين مكتب تبريز در عصر صفويان (نيمة نخست سدة 10ق / 16م) پديد آمد.&lt;sup&gt;5&lt;/sup&gt; <br /> <br /> پس از آن كه عبدالله خان ازبك هرات را تسخير كرد، بهزاد&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt; و جمعي از شاگردانش رهسپار تبريز شدند.&lt;sup&gt;6&lt;/sup&gt; <br /> <br /> در اين شهر، نسل جديدي از نگارگران با پشتوانة دستاوردهاي كارگاه‌هاي درباري تيموريان و تركمانان پرورش يافتند. نسخ ارزنده‌اي چون ديوان حافظ (حدود 1520-1527ق)، شاهنامة طهماسبي&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt;، خمسة طهماسبي&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt;، در همين دوره به دست هنرمنداني چون سلطان محمد&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt;، مير مصور&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt;، آقاميرك&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt;، مير سيد علي&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt;، ميرزا علي&lt;sup&gt;*&lt;/sup&gt;
