</ins>در زمان عمر خليفة دوم و يزدگرد سوم ساساني در <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">نزديكي </ins>نهاوند. <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">در مأموريت فتح‌سواد (غرب ايران)، عمر به جاي سعد بن ابي‌وقاص، عمار بن ياسر را به فرماندهي سپاهيان اعراب و يزدگرد سوم نيز، فيروزان (مردانشاه= ذوالحاجب= ابرومند)&lt;sup&gt;2&lt;/sup&gt; را به فرماندهي سپاه ايرانيان منصوب كردند. به دنبال آگاهي دادن عمار از قدرت‌گيري ايرانيان، نعمان بن مقرن  با سي هزار نفر از سوي عمر مأمور جنگ با ايرانيان شد.&lt;sup&gt;3&lt;/sup&gt; ايرانيان در وايخورد و اعراب در اسپيذهان لشكرگاه زدند. نعمان حلية عقب‌نشيني در پيش گرفت و با سر دادن خبر فوت عمر،&lt;sup&gt;4</ins>&lt;<ins style="font-weight: bold;
